Wedding frequently asked questions
What are your rates?
Wedding Collections start from $2800 - $4500 depending of the amount of coverage you require. Please get in touch for more details on wedding package collections. You can contact me using the contact page for a detailed price guide.
How would you describe your style?
Authentic, creative story telling with a dash of quirk, my photos will tell the story of what happened at your Wedding.
We feel akward in front of the camera!
Lets be real here, not many of us feel comfortable in front of the camera, especially me. I am not going to get you to do any awkward naff posing that will make you feel uncomfortable, I want to capture you being your natural selves, your love, the laughter, and all those honest moments throughout the day.
How Long have you been a photographer?
A longtime, I was an adventure photographer prior to becoming a full time wedding photographer in 20005.
How long do we wait to see our photos?
Every single image is carefully edited and my standards are high. My digital process takes approximately 6 weeks, though it can take up to 10 weeks during the busy season.
When is the best time for light?
The "Golden hour" is the ideal light for your creative photographs. It is the hour before the sun sets in the evening and the sun is low in the sky creating soft flattery light. Unfortunately during the summer months this often clashes with your reception times. If you can make it work, plan to do the bridal party photos in the afternoon and then with just the two of you to pop out for 20 minutes during reception just before sunset. It'll be so worth it :)
Here are some ideas around timings, of course these are totally up you but hopefully it’ll give you an idea of the stages.
● Preparation- 1.5 +
● Ceremony - approx. 30 mins+ another 20mins of mingling and congrats
● Family formal portraits - 30-40mins (allow 5 mins per group)
● Creative session / bridal party- 60-90mins
● Sunset session -25mins (optional and weather pending)

When it rains!
Many couples dread the thought of a rain on their wedding day, with visions of wet dresses, muddy venues & chilly guests becoming a focus on the run-up to the big day. Remember the real reason that you’re getting married – it isn’t because of the weather, it’s because you love each other & want to celebrate that in front of your family & friends.Be up for an adventure and embrace the weather! The pictures will be epic! The bigger the clouds, the more dramatic the photo!
Do you travel?
Heck yeah, I love to travel!!! If I can drive to your wedding I charge 65c per/km for anything over 150 km round trip. If your wedding is outside of the Northland region we can talk about travel costs and accommodation. I try to keep these costs to the minimum.
Can we have digital copies of our photo's?
Of course! You’ll receive a high resolution copy of your images throughout the day on a bespoke USB. I also include smaller files for social media.
What gear do you use?
I currently use Professional Nikon cameras. Whats in my kit - 2 x Nikon D750's, Nikon D800e, Sigma Art 35m/1.4, Sigma 85m/1.4, Nikon 50m, Nikon 105m/1.8, Nikon 70-200/2.8, Nikon 24-70m/2.8, Nikon 24-70m/2.8
What is the booking process?
I love to chat with couples about what they have planned for their day, either at my studio or over skype. Then if we are a good fit there is a $500 retainer to lock in your date.
If we cancel our date do you refund the deposit?
Retainers are used to reserve your date. Once I have reserved your date, I am unable to accept new clients for that date so unfortunatley no.
