How long are the sessions?
Most sessions run for around an hour, sometimes a little more. There’s no strict schedule – if the kids need a moment, we take it. The aim is always for everyone to settle in, relax and eventually forget the camera’s even there. That’s usually when the best images happen.
Best time for family photos
The hour before sunset is usually my favourite time to photograph families. The light is softer, warmer and far more flattering than the middle of the day. Morning sessions can also work beautifully, especially for younger children who are happiest earlier in the day.
What to wear
Choose clothing that feels comfortable, reflects your personality, and works well together without being too matchy. Neutral tones, soft colours and natural textures tend to photograph beautifully, but the most important thing is that you feel like yourselves.
CAN WE BRING OUR DOG
Of course! Dogs are always welcome. Bring some treats, a lead and a sense of humour. They don’t need to sit perfectly or look at the camera. In fact, it’s usually much more fun when they don’t. 🐾
