What should we wear?

Choose clothing that feels comfortable, reflects your personality, and works well together without being too matchy. Neutral tones, soft colours and natural textures tend to photograph beautifully, but the most important thing is that you feel like yourselves. Once

Where should we have our photos?

Some of the best locations are the ones that already mean something to your family. A favourite beach, the family farm, your backyard, a walking track you visit often, or somewhere the kids simply love to explore. If you're not sure where to go, I have plenty of favourite locations throughout Northland and the Bay of Islands and can help choose the perfect spot

What if my children don't sit still?

That's completely normal, and honestly, it's not something I expect. My sessions aren't built around children standing in a line and smiling at the camera. They're designed to give kids the space to be themselves. The running, exploring, cuddling, laughing and occasional chaos are often the moments that make the most meaningful photographs.

Can grandparents join us?

Absolutely. Including grandparents often adds another layer of meaning to your photographs and creates images that become even more valuable with time. If you’d like to include extended family members, just let me know when booking.

When will we receive our photos?

Your gallery will be ready within approximately two-four weeks. You’ll receive a private online gallery where you can view your images, choose your favourites and download your photographs.

What should we bring

Very little. A drink, a few snacks for younger children, and perhaps a towel or spare clothes if we're heading somewhere adventurous. Other than that, just bring yourselves.

What is the best time of day?

The hour before sunset is usually my favourite time to photograph families. The light is softer, warmer and far more flattering than the middle of the day. Morning sessions can also work beautifully, especially for younger children who are happiest earlier in the day.

Do you help us pose?

I'll guide you where needed and help everyone feel comfortable, but I'm far more interested in genuine connection than perfectly posed photographs. My aim is to create images that feel natural, relaxed and true to your family.

What if it rains?

If the weather really isn’t playing along, we’ll simply reschedule. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and we can make the call close to the day, as Northland weather has a habit of changing its mind! A few clouds won’t stop us, but if it’s wet and miserable, we’ll find a better day.

Can we bring our dog?

Of course! Dogs are always welcome. Bring some treats, a lead and a sense of humour. They don’t need to sit perfectly or look at the camera. In fact, it’s usually much more fun when they don’t. 🐾
